Responsibilities include: - Assisting in HR administration, including recruitment, onboarding, and orientation processes. - Developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures while maintaining policy and procedure documents. - Contributing to the establishment of departmental goals, objectives, and systems. - Managing FMLA/PFML processes to support employees. - Overseeing the onboarding and orientation of new benefitted employees and providing valuable support for part-time employees and adjunct faculty. - Conducting comprehensive recruitment efforts for all personnel, ensuring strict adherence to hiring practices. - Maintaining organizational charts and departmental web pages for transparency and accessibility. - Evaluating departmental changes and suggesting improvements to enhance efficiency. - Maintaining HR information system records and compiling reports from the database. - Ensuring strict compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations. - Coordinating engaging staff development events and facilitating online professional development opportunities. - Compiling essential data from various software programs and applications to serve multiple constituencies. - Acting as a reliable backup contact in the absence of the Director of Human Resources. - Efficiently handling Unemployment Notices of Entitlement. - Conducting investigations, interviews, and making recommendations for job reclassification appeals. - Serving as the initial point of contact for requests related to workplace accommodations. - Processing Workers' Compensation notices promptly. - Collaborating closely with the payroll department to ensure the accuracy of employee information.
