At Mecal, an engineering company with a Product Development department specialized in High Tech applications, I work as CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analyst and as team lead of the CFD team. As CFD analyst, I generate numerical models of components for semiconductor applications, run flow and thermal simulations and analyze results. Based on the findings, recommendations are made and optimization opportunities are discussed with the customer. Together with the customer, the design as well as the operating settings are iteratively optimized until the component meets all specified requirements. This way I accompany the product development process on its way from the first feasibility study to the prototype. In my role as teamlead, I coordinate tasks and keep track of the various projects being executed by the team. I am responsible for the operational and strategic project management of the team and take advantage of various management tasks within the team. Show less

As a TMC employeneur, I enjoyed the security of being employed while at the same time having the freedom of an entrepreneur by choosing projects and clients on my own. For me, working for TMC offered the unique chance of getting access to the dutch job market and to explore the various opportunities as an engineer in the Netherlands, especially the Eindhoven ‘brainport’ region. • Jun 2015 - Nov 2017

At the Department of Facilities and Solar Materials in Jülich (Germany), I was responsible for managing various research projects at a solar thermal demonstration plant as work package leader and supervisor. Interdisciplinary collaboration with colleagues from other departments and communication with project partners, coordination of project plans as well as documentation, reporting and presentation of project outcomes was part of my daily work.

    • Research Associate and Doctoral Candidate
      • Nov 2008 - May 2015

At the Department of Thermal Process Technology, I conducted my PhD related research on the development, design and optimisation of novel heat exchangers for solar thermal power application. This included transient multiphase CFD simulations taking into account complex heat transfer mechanisms. For experimental validation, I established a test rig for thermal measurements and flow visualisation. Also, I identified promising granular materials for use as heat transfer media. Furthermore, I collaborated on numerous basic and third party funded research projects related to thermal components and systems, like plate heat evaporators, thermal energy storage integration and performance assessment of an aircraft cooler.
