I studied under Dr. Torres Garibay as a student at Oregon Tech and cannot speak highly enough regarding her knowledge and insight into teaching classes associated with renewable energy systems. I studied Photovoltaic Systems (REE 412) under Dr. Torres Garibay. She was exceedingly knowledgeable about the subject and pushed each student to excel in both an individual PV design project as well as a group design project. Dr. Torres Garibay played a pivotal role in the success of my senior capstone design project as well. She was my advisor for the final two terms of the project, providing guidance, insight, knowledge and support towards the design of a new hydrolysis method for lignocellulosic biomass using the mushroom strain P. stipticus. She is a highly skilled, trained, professional who is approachable, insightful, compassionate and driven. I would gladly recommend Dr. Torres Garibay for any project. It was an honor to work so closely with her!

As a student at Oregon Institute of Technology, I had the pleasure of taking Biofuels and Biomass (REE 346) with Dr. Torres Garibay. The class was well structured and both highly informative and fun. Dr. Torres Garibay is a great professor who goes out of her way to help students learn and succeed.
