My thesis “Pain treatment in patients with advanced cancer disease: the impact of genetic variability” is part of a cooperation among 12 European countries, with a goal to improve individually tailored pain treatment. I was in this project responsible for the genetic analyses of 2294 patients diagnosed with cancer. This involved among other things to store the biologic material appropriate, to establish, carry out and assure the quality of the genetic analyses, and maintain the analytical instruments. Excel and SPSS were used for computing and statistical analyses. I also supervised in team work and master-/main thesis for students. Show less

As project leader I established and implemented stability studies, which are necessary to study the quality and shelf life in concentrated fish oils. This involved chemical analyses of the concentrates, cost estimates, to prepare future documentation and reports and knowledge transfer to my new colleagues. I also participated in their work to improve their quality assurance of food safety (cGMP) and standard operation procedures.
