Top is both a highly skilled computer scientist and a natural leader. I had the pleasure of working with him for our senior capstone project, and he was crucial to our group’s success in building our target full-stack application over the course of a semester. Top was our elected team leader, so along with programming important portions of our project, he served as the critical voice of direction and collaboration when it came time for key decisions. He made it his responsibility to deeply understand each facet of the project, and as such, was always looking for ways to build bridges between project sub-teams and make progress toward our goals. Especially with his smooth podcast-style microphone, Top’s contributions to group meetings were universally appreciated. Any team would be super lucky to count Top as a member!

During my senior year I worked as an undergraduate research assistant at the TRACE research lab at Clemson University. I was the lead developer on two tools that will be used for future research studies, including three starting Fall 2021. The first project was a React-based website that had a dynamic AI system on the backend feeding live responses to participants and recording their answers to ethical dilemmas before and after AI input. The second project was a more generalizable and extensible tool called Neocities that will be used in Fall 2021. This was a rework and redesign of a previously successful tool in the open-source game engine Godot.
