Fleet Operations is one of the UK’s leading privately owned fleet management/consultancy businesses with a proud heritage of providing professional fleet advice and services to a mix of both UK and International clients. Our core focus is to identify and then implement a wide range of fleet initiatives that deliver operational efficiencies and/or significant cost reductions for our clients. Underpinned by a dedicated and focussed team our outsourcing and fleet administration support functions are structured in a way that ensures we are capable of consistently delivering the highest quality of customer service. How to fund and operate a company fleet is becoming increasingly complex and we work with a mix of clients who have either retained or outsourced their internal fleet resource. In essence we support all of our clients by utilising the strength of our systems, the quality of our relationships with suppliers and our detailed knowledge of the b2b fleet market. From experience we know that our ability to provide the highest levels of cost control and proactive analysis of all fleet management data are the key differentiators that make The Fleet Operations team an asset to any business. In first year with the business I secured new contracts worth in excess of £2 million. With many Meals on Wheels contracts coming under pressure as a result of the substantial budget cuts imposed by the 2010 Comprehensive Spending Review, the emphasis of my role shifted and I subsequently led all existing and potential new client contract negotiations with UK Local Authorities who have or were considering a fully outsourced Meals on Wheels Service provision. This challenge was further complicated by many Local Authorities deciding to remove block contracts in favour of giving users a personal allowance to make an individual meal procurement choice. Designed to both offset the substantial business risks associated with the Comprehensive Spending Review and influence key stakeholders at strategic decision maker level I was responsible for creating a bespoke cost saving report, specific to each UK Local Authority, that quantified the savings that could be made if malnutrition amongst the over 65's could be reduced by just 10% and entry to a Care Home could be delayed by just 2 weeks. This report has proved crucial in helping to raise awareness of malnutrition laying the foundation for the recent creation of a UK Malnutrition Task Force. Despite the challenge of having 60% of existing contracts up for renewal during 2011 I negotiated the retention and/or extension of all contracts on new long term arrangements delivering sales in excess of £16million and net profit of £1.3 million. Led the sales and account management team comprising of 30 staff and restructured it to create 4 distinct routes to market. This culminated in 2006/7 with the company delivering record sales of £148 million. Working with Achieve Global oversaw the design and implementation of a training and personal development programme designed to create a team of Professional Fleet Advisors. This programme was designed to underpin our objective of outperforming the market and grow the business in line with the 5 year plan. In addition management of the sales process was taken to a new level with the design and implementation of a bespoke version of Salesforce.com. One particular achievement where HCVS punched significantly above its weight was the success in winning a new contract with Centrica (11,000 British Gas vans) which was the largest fleet management contract awarded in 2005. Led the team that created the bespoke solution, based on total transparency and specific to the clients’ needs, that substantially differentiated our proposition and enabled us to secure the contract. Targeted to win new business from fleets with 500+ vehicles. Broke all previous sales records by securing £10 million worth of new business, adding 6,000 vehicles to the fleet. New contract wins included Allianz, NHS PASA and Prudential. In addition to the above I secured the much sought after car fleet management contract with Vodafone. This innovative solution achieved premium pricing, more than double the market rate, by providing a bespoke on-line vehicle selection and order process that was specific to the grade and entitlement of each individual driver.
