Absolutely adored working with Tony! Few people combine his level of technical skill, user-driven focus and practical product development experience. I had the chance to pair with Tony on a couple of projects and learned so much it felt like a "product development 101 intensive course"...! Tony could write The Book on "Building Successful Software Startups" I hope some day he finds the time to catalog (and share) all his knowledge/insight; it will be an instant hit! If you can, work with him!

I've thoroughly enjoyed working with Tony at Leap. He's dedicated, highly skilled and proved on a day-to-day basis that both his skills as a developer and his experiences as a teacher made him an ideal product manager, capable of communicating specifics about product, process and technology in an organised, cohesive and comprehensible way. He's genuinely passionate about agile product development and applying the lean/agile methodology to other areas of the business. I'd count myself lucky if I could work with Tony again in the future.

Technical Lead for our second book, The Incredible Intergalactic Journey Home. This primarily involved leading on the vision and architecture of our new rendering pipeline. But also stepping into a few of the dynamic creative pieces that make up our book. Technical Lead for our second book, The Incredible Intergalactic Journey Home. Primarily spent my time working on the Makeshift products Bitsy and Savemates. Savemates was built with a SOA. The public facing web app was built in Rails, whilst the services were built using rails-api. Code was written using TDD with RSpec and Capybara. Integrated with Stripe for payments and Sidekiq for background processing. Primarily spent my time working on the Makeshift products Bitsy and Savemates. Savemates was built with a SOA. Working with Sidekick Studios and vInspired I developed http://tasksquadhq.com. The app was built using a lean, iterative process with a mobile first, responsive design. Working closely with the designer and product owner we were able to build and iterate on the idea very quickly. Using Rails and MongoDB helped this process greatly. Task Squad was accepted onto the Young Foundation Accelerator Programme for spring 2013. Created new version of the site with a completely new responsive design. Worked closely with the Product Manger to help them understand their users, assumptions and hypotheses. Planned and built an MVP in order to prove / disprove these hypotheses. Planned and added deep integration with the Facebook Open Graph which had a direct impact on user growth. Joined the company as the 2nd developer. The test suite was non-existent so I started writing specs in RSpec for existing areas of the site. This was a great way to get up to speed with different areas of the site, whilst also providing value. There was also no support infrastructure for client issues, with a growing cus- tomer base this would be essential. There was also no support infrastructure for client issues, with a growing cus- tomer base this would be essential. I integrated TenderApp with SSO support and I set up an internal support plan which incorporated account management and developers to deal with client issues in a timely manner. Due the company’s flat hierarchy I was able to work closely with the CEO to contribute ideas and make a positive impact towards future development. The site was hosted on Slicehost, but due to growth and a lack of a System Admin we decided to move over to a managed platform. I successfully planned and migrated the site over to EngineYard.

Joined as a junior ruby developer where I quickly got involved on a large scale, multi-national e-commerce application. Worked closely with the team lead and learnt a great deal about developing large scale applications. Responsible for constructing, implementing and testing new features. This involved direct contact with customers to assist them on deciding necessary features.
