I Created Studio REV, LLC when The Sweat Shop partnership dissolved (due to my partner moving). My desire was to create a sleek, bright, modern fitness center while retaining the "club-like" atmosphere for Zumba classes. After looking all over town for a building, my husband suggested remodeling the recently vacant Great Basin Museum. It was a win-win for both of us and the new Studio REV was born! With a lot of help from my fellow Zumba instructors and their spouses, we moved the stage from The Sweat Shop, installed a new wood floor with foam cushioning underneath, painted the dance area black, re-installed the disco ball and dj lights and decorated the studio in bright, party colors. Business partner/owner of The Delta Sweat Shop with Rebecca Cahoon. Rebecca and I partnered our resources to create a health/wellness business where we could teach Zumba Fitness classes. When we were unable to find a large enough space in our little town to create the atmosphere we were looking for, Rebecca's husband, Alonzo, suggested we use the large shop at their tire store, A&R Tire. Since we intended to create a "raw," industrial-style workout space where students could feel free to "let loose" and get sweaty "in the dark," we embraced his idea and ran with it! We painted the cement floor, built a huge stage where 4 instructors would eventually teach, "tagged" some graffiti on the walls (including the words "Peak State" from Tony Robbins), covered the windows with black curtains, installed a disco ball and dj lights and added a "rockin' " sound system to create a very unique, "club-like" atmosphere.
