      Spirit Hotels was taken over by AVC in a joint venture. In my first year with the new Group i was utilised in a projects role as well as continuing to manage Fitzys Loganholme. One project was conducting a number of Due Diligence inspections of potential acquisitions . Then in 2020 a major refurbishment was undertaken at Fitzys so i was focused on that. I had a lead role in venue design which included the creation of a new space - the Terrace BarCafe - which was created to broaden the hotel's appeal, in particular to the female market which had been a weakness before. Then in late 2020 , after re-marrying, I requested a transfer to a Sunshine Coast property so that my wife could continue her employment at the SCUHospital. Show less

      I was approached by the group to take over one of their flagship properties - Fitzys Loganholme. The hotel had become tired and business in decline, and was due for a renovation. This renovation required a comprehensive repositioning of the hotel in the market. Great success was achieved. Subsequent to this i was promoted to a multi site 'operations manager' role, where I retained the GM role at Fitzys but also took on operational oversight of other venues. Initially 4 extra venues, but within 12 months this grew to 8 additional venues including 3 remote pubs. After 3 years in this capacity, my role changed to one where i was still managing Fitzys but also taking on special projects for the group. A significant project was a lead role in the rollout of the TITO system into the Pokies operations of over 50 hotels in the Group. Show less

      I was approached by the owner of this venue after a recommendation. The property consisted of a 35 room 4 star lodge and an adjacent tavern. One of only 2 venues in the town ( a huge mining operation owned by Rio Tinto was the core business of the region ), it was a high volume operation. I enjoyed the change of environment, but after 2 year contract, it was time to return to SEQ I was approached by the owner of this venue after a recommendation. The property consisted of a 35 room 4 star lodge and an adjacent tavern.
