I highly recommend Tony based on my experience working with him at Ocular LCD. Tony is a subject matter expect in all areas of capacitive touch and also has excellent knowledge of embedded systems in general. Tony was always quick to answer my questions - and to follow up with customer questions as needed. Tony is very customer focused and always made himself available to solve challenging customer field issues. I highly recommend Tony for any engineering position involving challenging technical problems that must be solved quickly and creatively.

My role at Dawar Technologies is to oversee all of our projected capacitive (PCAP) touch projects. I supervise board designs and touch panel designs. In addition to being the principal tuner of our PCAP products, I also train other engineers on tuning and develop internal tuning procedures. I also developed numerous tuning and test programs for Atmel (now Microchip) and EETI touch controllers.I am also the author of the only book dedicated to projected capacitive touch technology, designs, and materials titled "Projected Capacitive Touch: A Practical Guide for Engineers". The book is available in hardcover and eBook format from Amazon. Electronic copies of the entire book or of individual chapters can be purchased directly from Springer Publishing. Show less

I was responsible for all aspects of our custom projected capacitive touch panel designs. I attended trainings at Atmel and Cirque to learn the various configuration options for their touch controllers. I wrote numerous test programs and demo programs including an automated robot tester for our touch panels that automatically determined configuration parameters like clipping and edge correction. I interacted with customers to ensure that our designs met their requirements. I managed the development of a complicated custom USB driver for the Atmel touch controller. I helped customers trouble shoot field issues including electrical noise, mechanical design interference, and software drivers. I wrote numerous articles on touch technologies and spoke at several conferences including SID. Show less

During my 6 years at Invensys I worked on a variety of products including smoke detectors, CO detectors, gas valve controls, defrost controls, and programmable thermostats. In addition to being the primary software architect and author on a number of products, I also managed multiple projects including the electrical, mechanical, and software design. I worked closely with manufacturing sites in Mexico and China to protect quality and ensure on time delivery. I worked on the embedded software design of several products at Plexus including a bottle manufacturing system and an electronic inhaler. Plexus was one of my favorite places to work and I highly recommend it to any engineer who enjoys a wide variety of projects. When I joined the company, which was originally named Eutectic Electronics, my first role was the sole developer of the Neuron Tracing System or NTS. The system was comprised of a custom joystick with a knob on top of the stick, a three axis motorized stage for a research microscope capable of movements as small as half a micron, and a 20 inch ray tracing display with custom driver. The system was used by neuroscientists to map and study the 3D structure of neurons in research animals. The software, which ran under DOS, drove the microscope stage and display and received input from the joystick. It also included numerous analysis functions to analyze captured structures. When I first started all the software was written in FORTRAN. Over a span of 18 months I rewrote the software in C++, adding numerous features. As the market for the NTS became saturated, I transitioned into developing software for numerous other design projects including a smoke opacity meter used to check smoke being emitted by diesel trucks, a food chiller/heating unit used in hospitals, an automated pipette storage and delivery system used in chemical assays, a test system for a mass transit braking system, and other projects.
