      WIRES has been rescuing and caring for wildlife for almost 35 years and is the largest wildlife rescue organisation in Australia. We have over 3,000 volunteers, 28 local branches, a dedicated Rescue Office that operates 24/7, 365 days a year assisting the community to help native animals in distress. We are passionate about collaboration, and supporting smaller volunteer organisations in the wildlife sector with the same mission, in addition to Universities, Veterinary Associations and other leading scientific and The Mid-South Coast Branch stretches from Ulladulla to Narooma and has around 100 members.       From 2000 until early 2016 Tony was the COO of the APVMA. He is now accompanying his wife on an OS posting to Port Moresby PNG. As COO he managed security, human resources, finance and administration, communications and public affairs, business systems, procurement and information technology (including software application development) functions at the APVMA. The APVMA regulates the $4Bil agricultural chemicals and veterinary medicines industries approving all products for registration and setting the conditions of use of the products.       Based in Suva, Fiji Tony was the Human Resource Manager for AusAID dealing with all human resource issues for all locally engaged AusAID staff employed across the Wider Pacific which included responsibility for the countries of Fiji, Kiribati, Tonga, Vanuatu and Samoa. He undertook in-country remuneration reviews, developed country specific employment contracts, undertook recruitment / terminations etc, managed underperformance, undertook training etc. He also undertook an examination of locally engaged positions across the Wider Pacific, Asia and Africa. Using work level standards and job assessment processes he realigned positions allowing a shared understanding to be gained of roles and responsibilities which in turn facilitated the first ever cross-country secondment (between the Soloman Islands and Kiribati). He provided in-country HR assistance to AusAID's posts in PNG, the Solomon Islands, Laos and Cambodia. Finally, he was employed by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to review the emergency plans for the Australian High Commission in Suva and conducted the annual testing of the emergency plans for three years.
