Bringing more than 13 years of process safety management, asset management, process design, project engineering & operations experience gained from my time with Jacobs (plus 10 years of prior aviation experience) to bear, my role within Advisian allows me to drive the success of its Process Safety & Environmental line of business. Drawing upon the expertise of my team, my own firsthand knowledge, & relationships/resources I have access to across the Worley organization, I assist my clients in becoming safer, more reliable & more efficient. I know the importance of the work I do; therefore, I get the job done right, the first time around. Ultimately, my client’s success is tied to my own.Key Services:• Operational Management Systems: After a comprehensive analysis, we design & implement tailored management systems that affect necessary change from corporate through the department level. Our assessment also allows us to address low performing areas first, enabling our clients to realize rapid & economical risk reduction. • Process Safety Management: As a requirement in the hydro-processing industry, PSM is not always seen in terms of the value it can provide. When correctly designed & executed, PSM can create safe & reliable operations which benefit all stakeholders involved. Our team has a database of lessons learned & best practices at their disposal & is linked with our engineering group which allows us to provide an experienced-based cost estimate for each gap closure plan.• Mechanical Integrity: Our MI team is well-practiced in all aspects of mechanical integrity programs, including policies, procedures, work instructions, defined roles/responsibilities, & risk acceptance criteria. This expertise uniquely qualifies us to provide guidance on how to institute a successful MI program. Our programs are compliant with federal regulations, prioritized in their deployment for maximum risk reduction, & integrated with PSM, operations & maintenance departments. Show less

Throughout much of my tenure at Jacobs Engineering, I desired to build a team that would provide consistent process safety and mechanical integrity services to clients across the Americas. After articulating this vision to Jacobs’ senior leadership, they developed a new role and empowered me to lead this new venture. In turn, my business unit began instilling a process safety culture and steering effective change industry-wide.To accomplish this ambitious goal, I provided technical direction to a group of Process Engineers and served as a petroleum refining and petrochemical technology specialist. My team and I formulated and developed advanced process engineering concepts, techniques and standards, and deployed these to the benefit of our clients. In addition to business development activities, I oversaw all of our refining and chemical related projects, managed project staffing, and ensured quality and performance. I was also involved in designing industry process units and participated in planning, cost development and scheduling for refining and chemical projects.Highlight:• In addition to building the Process Technology Team, I served as client PSM manager in a seconded role. Leveraging my leadership capabilities, I created the PSM program by applying OMS concepts to a PSM program and was able to gain the necessary buy-in from the client’s senior management team required to successfully execute the program. • Process Section Manager & Project Engineer
      • 2011 - 2014

In these multifaceted roles, I led a group of 30 Process Engineers and other professionals and functioned as a technical specialist who framed and developed advanced process engineering techniques and standards. My team was primarily focused on projects relating to mechanical integrity and it was my job to coordinate all functions within the department. Additionally, I assisted with overall department operations management, sales and procedure/policy development.I succeeded in this, my first management role, by recruiting and investing in a team that was truly committed to process safety. I assigned staff to project roles based on their individual skillsets which ensured that jobs were finished properly and on time. I also developed a training program and conducted trainings across our Gulf Coast offices which led to over 50 employees being prepared for hazard study facilitation. Highlight:• When I assumed leadership responsibility for the restructuring of the Mechanical Integrity department at a large client refinery, it was one of the lowest performing in the industry. Under my leadership it became one of the best – noted by OSHA auditors who stated the site became a best-in-class refinery in terms of Mechanical Integrity. By having each team member understand the importance of the tasks he or she was assigned, the team took ownership and pride in their work, leading to superior results. Show less

    • Process Engineer (I, II, III)
      • 2006 - 2011

In my early Process Engineering roles at Jacobs Engineering, I was responsible for an array of responsibilities which allowed me to apply my comprehensive understanding of chemical engineering principles, concepts, and industry practices and standards. Though this was prior to my management positions, I was often given a chance to serve as a lead on projects which helped develop the managerial skills I utilize today. An overview of my scope of responsibility included performing all aspects of process engineering and design, participating in the design of process units, calculating and organizing data for process flow sheets, and modeling chemical and refining process/unit operations. I also prepared specifications and operating parameters for process equipment including distillation columns, pressure vessels, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers and fired heaters.Key Project:• I was involved in upgrading an existing plant to produce high-purity isoprene. My responsibilities included updating P&IDs required as input for a Phase II estimate. Over 50 P&IDs were updated and back-checked on a tight schedule. Show less
