The play sessions are held after school on Wednesday and Friday during term time, three days a week during the school holidays except Christmas. The play sessions are for school children from Primary 1 - Primary 4 (Wednesday) and Primary 5 - Primary 7 (Friday). At each play session, the children are signed in when they arrive. There is an art or craft ready for them to do if they choose to. There is also a pool table, air hockey and table football for them to play on, as well as an X Box and games. Depending on good weather, we sometimes go to the nearby park or football pitch. I help organise the crafts each session and play a variety of games chosen by the children. The sessions are often noisy and busy but everyone has a lot of fun and new children join the club almost every week.My duties include setting up and clearing away the craft supplies, making sure each child is signed in on the register and has up-to-date contact and consent information, making up fruit juice and assisting the other staff throughout each session and then any tidying and cleaning afterwards.
