I hired Tom in 2000 to lead the Facilities department at Great Clips, Inc. Our growth was exploding and we needed a savvy executive to take the department to the next level. Tom filled the bill. He rebuilt the entire process on a CRM platform that increased the department's productivity and flexibility. Tom is a keen negotiator. He astutely negotiated multiple contracts with existing and new vendors during his tenure at Great Clips. All of this while maintaining the solid relationship that are a hallmark of the company. He played a major role in the total redesign of the Great Clips salon buildout. This involved sourcing and developing numerous new vendors, products and construction procedures. Tom's insight into how the new design could be integrated into the existing salon infrastructure resolved the major stumbling block for our existing franchisees who were concerned about remodeling costs. Tom is a get it done leader and a great negotiator. I worked with Tom on a recent facility move where the coordination of the IT equipment and the office furniture and equipment was critical to minimize the impact and downtime to the employees. Tom was in constant contact with the contractor and the move went extremely well, thanks to Tom and his attention to detail. I've also asked Tom to be the bad-cop on several IT contracts which has helped reduce the costs but kept my relationship in tact, making it a win-win for the company. I would highly recommend Tom as your next Facilities Director or Procurement Director.
