I thank myself for hiring Tommy Denn every day. Here are 3 main reasons why: 1. Tommy is Resourceful. Tommy spends most of his time in HubSpot, but he also works in Azure Active Directory, Power Automate, and Exchange Admin Center. In any case, Tommy is usually building or fixing some sort of complex sales automation. Despite the complexity, Tommy learned at lightspeed and started working independently within weeks. Today, he regularly solves problems before I even know they exist. Believe me, you haven't lived until you've had a team member like this. 2. Tommy is exceptionally likeable. The Great Lakes corporate office oversees 50+ independent sales people and our entire business depends on their success. Tommy and I are responsible for onboarding, coaching, and supporting each of them daily. If we aren't helpful and likeable, the downstream effects would get ugly. I spent months building rapport and trust with these sales people before Tommy came on board and I had no hesitations passing the baton to him. He is a perfect extension of the values the leadership team strives to embody and we can trust him to represent our company well. Anyone at Great Lakes would describe Tommy as patient, kind, relatable, and servant-hearted. 3. Tommy can GRIND. Work ethic and discipline can be very difficult to find. Over the course of nearly a year, I have NEVER caught Tommy on his phone or perusing social media. Not once! He shows up focused and positive every day and stays that way all day. This consistency is also a product of Tommy's integrity - he's honest and always puts the interests of his team and employer before his own. I hope to hire Tommy onto our team full-time upon his graduation. Whatever you do, don't come to me for a reference while he's still at Great Lakes - I'll put up a real fight to keep him!
