  Behavioral Neuroscience Laboratory My work thesis was focused on the study of the striatal protein named Rhes and in behavioral processes related to schizophrenia. For this purpose, I used as experimental model Rhes knockout mice, characterized by lack of the related protein Rhes. In order to induce schizophrenia-like behaviors, I treated these animals with the psychotomimetic drug amphetamine and phencyclidine and evaluated their behavioral responses, such as motor activity and pre-pulse inhibition. In this period, I also acquired experience in the management and maintenance of mouse colonies.
