Tom is one of the best sales professionals I have had the privilege to work with. I first professionally partnered with Tom during our time together at Chase, after seeing what he brought to the table and the value-add for the clients I continued to partner with him as a resource when I moved on to other companies. Tom truly is an expert in his chosen field. Not only does he know his own product inside and out but also keeps abreast of the changing regulations/guidelines, what the competition has to offer, so that he can be a true problem solver and resource for his clients. He is as comfortable in the C-Suite as in the break room, working with business owners/CEOs/Presidents to processors and loan officers. He works well with all personality types and has a "strong chin", even when faced with the toughest "type A". Tom's pride and conviction in his professionalism and support of his product/company is unparalleled. I have never seen him leave a meeting without asking for either a follow-up meeting and/or that client's business. Some of the words that come to mind are energetic, tireless, passion for his work and expertise. *Presentation Skills. Whether he is doing a power point, using a chalkboard, if he has a captive audience...watch out. *Tom is an excellent listener, knows just what questions to ask, probes deeply so he can solve the underlying issues. *Solution skills. In the mortgage industry 90% of your job is to trouble shoot and triage, he 'saves deals' all day, every day. If there is something he doesn't have or know, he will be the ultimate resource and find it quickly for you. *Work Ethic. When we met in 1998 the industry was moving away from local fulfillment centers to centralized. Due to this we were all pushed out of our branches and worked from our homes. While others floundered Tom not only proved that he could succeed in this new environment but thrived. Did I mention that he is driven. On top of all the above he lives for his work, while others may call it a day at 5 or 6 he will still be out there at 7 or 8 if a client needs him. Tom is also exceptional with 'sundown', returning all phone calls and emails by the end of the business day. He is one of the best at networking, account/territory penetration and earning the loyalty of his clients.
