I am responsible for the overall direction and management of the Department of Transportation, carry out the goals and priorities of the Tribe including: strategic planning, organizing, development and implementation of policies and procedures, budgeting, staffing, compliance with Federal, State, Local law and grant regulations. Roles & Responsibilities: • Direct contact for Federal Transit Administration and Washington State Department of Transportation • Oversee the Medicaid contract(s) • Assists in the management of the Drug and Alcohol program, including random testing • Develop and manage the capital acquisition plan and disposition of vehicles and equipment for the 100+ vehicle Tribal fleet • Manage the GSA leased fleet of vehicles • Manage the fuel card acquisition program, including pins and ID numbers • Responsible for title and licensing of all Tribal vehicles, trailers and boats • Manage the general motor pool system and vehicles, fleet inventory system • Oversee the driver eligibility program with annual certification • Process the monthly accounting for all vehicle fuel purchases and GSA lease invoicing costs • Assist in management of the National Tribal Transportation Facility Inventory NTTFI); the old Indian Reservation Roads Program • Produce traffic volumes reports, including setting out traffic tubes and counters and acquiring existing traffic volumes from other sources • Propose roadways and waterways to add to the National inventory, including RIFDS coding of the existing and proposed roads • Coordinate with state, county and local jurisdictions to acquire letters of agreement to add roads owned by others to the national inventory • Section roadways based on legal requirements • Assist in development and amendments to the Tribe’s Long Range Transportation Plan • Review and analyze proposed recommendations from the Tribe’s Transit Plan • Represent the Tribe on various Boards and Committees, as appropriate Show less
