I had the privilege of getting to work closely with Tom Bagwell during jump start weekend. I have witness first hand his ability to connect with me and others by pushing us out of our comfort zone. His ability to teach us story telling by using our own stories has made be walk with my head higher and embrace my truth. He is hard working, independent and well educated. He is humble and funny and glad that I had the chance to meet such a good man. Thank You for giving Cal State East Bay students a chance to be part of your lectures.

Tom Bagwell's consumer experience course was top notch. Every class had a different guest speaker - authors, CMO’s, and PhD's, to name a few - on select topics that were both interesting and educational. Mr. Bagwell himself is engaging and approachable, as well as extremely knowledgeable about marketing and how customers interact with businesses. The project for the class was on Peterson Caterpillar. We used real departments, touch points, and financial information (costs, ROI, time) to formulate solutions to increase the customer experience in select departments. At the end of the class we presented our proposals to Peterson managers, C-level executives, and VPs. My most memorable experience in the course took place during the one-on-one presentation coaching with Mr. Bagwell. He was forthcoming with critiques and suggestions as to what and how I could improve. I learned more from that single session than I have in some entire courses.

Professor Bagwell’s marketing course is one that I would recommend to any marketing major. Not only was each lecture interesting and entertaining while still promoting basic marketing principles and how to apply them in the marketing environment; but I have gained more real world experience in this course than in any other course I have taken. This course has provided insight into marketing as a concept as well as into real life experiences and I appreciate Professor Bagwell for continuously trying to help each student in his course succeed and take away skills that will be useful in every aspect of education and their professional careers.
