Tom has an amazing ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels through professionalism balanced with genuine caring. He is someone who I would choose to be on my team 100% of the time, and I feel blessed to have had the opporunity to work with him.
Bob Weber
The most worrisome part of sales management is turnover, and the turmoil and lost sales that accompanies it. Tom is one of the few individuals I have managed that short-circuited the transitional period and immediately delivered. That alone is reason to hire Tom; no drama, no hand-holding. He sets his sights on business goals, rationalizes how to best achieve those goals, and then sets a course. In a word: impressive. I accord Tom my highest endorsement, and hope that future employers will reach-out to me for my reccommendation.

Sales Director

Apr 2016 - Present
Genieco manufactures and sells fragrance products nationally through distributors, online, and direct to consumers via the website. The company sells through nine different channels; I manage three of them. in the Midwest and Texas territories. Prior to COVID, my territory had posted a 22% increase over the prior fiscal year. Despite the temporary shutdown of the business in the Spring of 2020, my sales are up an additional 15%. despite the pandemic. I continue to evaluate all incoming new business inquiries and opportunities, and perform market analysis for three sales categories for the president's review.

VoiceWalker is emerging VoIP company specializing in telecom services for small/medium size businesses. As Regional Sales Manager I covered the Chicago area market, creating my own prospects, developing them, and closing the business. Managed all marketing and pricing strategies for my territory. Learned the telecom business from scratch when I joined the company.I was the top saleman in the country, leading the company in sales annually 2012 through 2016. In 2015, my billing topped the second best salesperson by 50%.

Sales / Account Manager, WTTW Television
-
Nov 2009 - Jun 2010
Recruited to this sales position by a long-time colleague who knew my sales track record. Goal: build a book of business from non-television advertisers--true business development. Involved serious research and cold calling. Closed business locally, but found a niche in pitching WTTW National Productions; was on the verge of signing a highly desirable (large commission) piece of national business. To try and close a huge budget gap when the state of Illinois did not deliver on $1.25 million in promised support, the station was forced to restructure. My position was eliminated. Have many good friends and colleagues at the station, and hope for their continued success.

Emphasis was working with major Consumer Package Goods companies such as Kraft on mutually beneficial custom publishing projects. In short, as Account Director I managed all aspects of the relationship between PIL and Kraft. The final three years of my tenure at PIL resulted in almost 60 custom published full length magazines and cookbooks.
