Self sufficient department of the airside safety and airfield operations unit at DSA. Primary duties:-Inspection of a 2895 x 60m runway. -Inspections of all airfield movement areas (Taxiways, Aprons, Stands, Maintenance Areas etc). -Runway surface condition declaration -Reviewing and auditing: Airfield Safety Notices, Standard Operating Procedures, Airfield Operating Instructions and Risk Assessments.-Movement area serviceability (AGL's, FOD, Signage, Markings, Defects etc)-Turnaround audits on inbound and outbound airlines including the serviceability of airside vehicles, employee and vehicle airside driving permits.-Assuring ground handling agent personnel are adhering to enforced airport by laws and H&S regulations-Bird Control to ensure the risk of bird strikes is at a minimum.-Managing and supervising airside escorts I.e airport visitors and contractors-Liaising and negotiating with airport/airfield third parties, customers and various departments within the airport-Radio Telephony on all required areas of the airfield -Aircraft stand allocation for all aircraft on the airfield including GA aircraft -Attending weekly safety meetings with various departments within the airport - analyzing and monitoring operational measurements.-Responsibility of enforcing low visibility and airfield weather safeguarding procedures -Compiling and reporting of safety events -Delivery of AOA airside driver training and permits Show less
