  Led 47 sailors across 2 departments in providing logistical support and instruction in order to train and evaluate EOD operators in countering conventional and improvised threats.- Headed all logistical support for pre-deployment training including the maintenance of 26 vehicles and 4 facilities; managed 14 service contracts totaling $24 million and $4.4 million of internal supply requests. - Oversaw the delivery of tailored pre-deployment training to eight teams, maximizing their readiness and ability to protect their supported units.- Directed a three-month internship program assessing and familiarizing 41 prospective officer candidates with the EOD community. Generated reports compiling observations and recommendations critical to hiring decisions.

• Explosive Ordnance Disposal Officer

  Led seven technicians in supporting a joint task force at a low-visibility, high-consequence, counter-terrorism mission at four remote outstations in East Africa.-Completed EOD qualifications six months early and assisted more senior officers in attaining their qualification.-Selected as the organization’s liaison to higher headquarters, ensured visibility of organizational accomplishments.-Revamped organization’s documents to eliminate extraneous information and highlight critical data for leadership.-Directed an explosive awareness program that provided lifesaving skills to more than 350 partner forces and increased force protection for US forces.

• EOD Platoon Commander

  Led seven technicians onboard the USS Nimitz in support of operations in Afghanistan. Managed qualifications for all sailors. Responsible for $10 million in equipment.-Established a split-team rotation to maximize support to both the embarked air wing and regional partners on shore.-Rendered safe and disposed of misfired, “dudded” and other unsafe ordnance allowing for the continued launch and recovery of aircraft and safety of 5,000+ embarked crewmembers.-Directly supported five customer units onshore and conducted exercises with six nations to enhance regional stability.-Established agreement for use of a new demolition range, creating operating procedures and defining requirements for continued use. With this addition, teams gained 30% more training time in this critical area.

  Completed Dive, EOD, Airborne, and follow-on training courses.-Training in SCUBA and MK-16 diving techniques, inspection, search and underwater procedures to safely and effectively perform as a dive team member and SCUBA and Mk-16 diver.-Training in the best methods and procedures for the detection, identification, evaluation, render safe, and disposal of surface and underwater conventional and nuclear explosive ordnance.-Training in current, relevant, and approved static line parachute techniques and tactics.-Training in small arms marksmanship, navigation, combat first aid and other skills necessary to integrate with supported customer units.
