Being a member of the National Youth Council holds various responsibilities and subsequent roles within the Rugby Football Union's structure. This has and still is increasing my network within rugby and the RFU, allowing me to make my voice, and the voice of young people within rugby heard at the highest level as well as giving me a further knowledge as to how the organisation works and the inner workings of rugby as a whole. The main tasks of this role include:- Attending quarterly 2 day weekend meetings to discuss matters with other members- Collaborating to create a yearly plan for the NYC- Taking up roles in various RFU working groups- Taking up roles in RFU subcommittees- Presenting on key findings of working groups and subcommittees to the rest of the NYCThe working groups and subcommittee's is a chance to have an impact on the game and give the viewpoint of a young person within rugby. I am often turned to both within working groups and from others I am not officially involved with to get my opinion on some decisions. I will also feed back to the NYC and receive their feedback on certain projects to in turn feed back to the working group or subcommittee. I was a part of the RFU 150th anniversary working group, sadly disbanded due to Covid-19 and am currently sitting on the RFU Game development subcommittee. Show less

Coach at the Gloucester & Cheltenham centre's of the Gloucester Rugby Developing Players Program. Coming in 2 months into the season to a established coaching group was a challenge to be able to integrate and establish myself effectively. I had to quickly immerse myself within the coaching team and find my place within the coaching structure of around 6 other coaches. I was tasked with the U13s along with another 2 coaches and quickly took a lead to get things moving. This immediately became my focus for the first hour where U13s and U14s are split along with the coaching group. This allowed me to establish myself properly within the coaching structure and make use of leadership and team working skills to help create a strong environment for the players. In the second hour when we solely had the U15s, I was often a roaming coach, assisting and developing players individually as well as refereeing game elements. Show less
