Reports directly to the head of Engineering, overseeing the operation, maintenance and administration of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), with overall responsibility for the planning of preventive maintenance and routine servicing. Additionally, my team manages the acquisition, stocking and monitoring of technical spares, is responsible for conducting spares criticality analysis and performing periodic Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) studies of manufacturing and production assets across the King’s Lynn site, as well as seeking out cost-effective engineering solutions and proposals. Our prime objective is to keep the overall cost of maintenance down by reducing the footprint of spares and resources needed while increasing availability for production of the site’s 3000+ assets. We design and manufacture of an array of medical devices ranging from respiratory inhalers to check valves and complex injectable systems for both the European and US markets. A high-volume manufacturer, we mould over 2.6 billion individual components annually, subsequently assembling them into the various devices in our portfolio using state-of-the-art automation technology, providing approximately 550 million assembled devices to our clients around the globe every year. Every second of every day, over 1,000 patients use our respiratory devices to help them breathe.As a Manufacturing Engineer, I am responsible for the conversion and migration of asset data into a Computerised Maintenance Management System, to automate the current paper-and-pencil format of documentation.
