I am now a Curriculum Lead with a PE focus, responsible for creating content and quality assuring the PE that is delivered through CPD, PPA and ASC in Schools across Brighton and East and West Sussex. I have a created various PE schemes and lesson plans across all sports and ages adhering to the National Curriculum. I deliver PE CPD events to large groups of Primary teachers, offering high quality training of Physical Education. I have been targeted with growing the number of schools and teachers we are working with in PE as well as our Albion Cup tournament where local schools take part in a fun, competitive and inclusive Football Tournament. This is also my first line management role in which I have two direct reports whom I trained and continue to push and work with on a daily bases. This has improved my communication skills and empathy and as well as forcing me to make decisions directing affecting others and being responsible.

    • Premier League Primary Stars Sports Mentor
      • Oct 2019 - Dec 2021

Working as part of Albion in the Community's Schools team, it was my responsibility to deliver high quality interventions and lessons across schools in Brighton and Sussex. I was one of two Mentors who delivered the Premier League Primary Stars programme. The programme has two elements. The first to use Sport, specifically football and Brighton and Hove Albion to engage young people who may be struggling in lessons. This may be academically or with soft skills such as resilience, teamwork or confidence. We use football themed maths, literacy and pshe sessions to work on these skills and bring enjoyment to their school lives. The second part of the programme is to deliver PE CPD to primary school teachers. Our aim it's to deliver high quality PE lessons and work with teachers to up skill and give knowledge and confidence so they can continue delivering PE after we have worked with them.As a part of this role data was extremely important to report back to the Premier League and internally. I would need to be organised, efficient and work to deadlines to capture qualitative and quantitative data through questionnaires and data sheets, before inputting onto our data base, Views.I had to form relationships with many different stakeholders from headteachers and staff and the club, to the young people I was working with and be a responsible, reliable role model in which I was looked upto. I carried the BHAFC badge with pride and represent the club to a high level in all the work I did.

The opportunity to get back into working with young people through sport was something I could not turn down. I was responsible for delivering high quality lunch and afternoon school sports clubs, such as football, tennis, basketball to a variety of KS1 and KS2 children. I also had to plan, prepare and deliver PE lessons for PPA cover across West Sussex primary schools. As a part of the role I worked as part of the Friday night project where local teenagers would come to the sports centre and use the facilities. I would ensure they were enjoying themselves whilst remaining safe. My final part of the role was to help deliver holiday camps across the summer which was an experience I liked. I really enjoyed my time working with Freedom as it allowed me to have flexible working hours around my Tesco job, whilst gaining more valuable experience of working with young people in schools and sport. My manager Lee was fantastic to work for and was very grateful for the chance.

I have started working at Tesco to gain retail and customer service skills that will allow me to expand on my current skill set. The job enables me to work as part of a team and work efficiently to time frames. I am required to show exceptional services to customers in store and deliver a high standard of shopping to customers who have ordered from home. I have had to to listen and receive training on how to use the machinery to deliver this service, as well as work to strict deadlines. This position enables me to broaden the skills I have learnt throughout my educational, sporting and professional career so that I am a more rounded individual.

I transferred from the Primary Education degree, also at the University of Chichester, to my current degree of Physical Education and Sports Coaching as I wanted to focus on my true passion, sport. I have and am gaining so much from this degree, whether it's people and social skills, to the hard academic work learning about the top ways to deliver sport as well as all the theory in between. I believe I am a good student, a fantastic role model and I work very hard. My grades are very good, and I am striving hard to reach my goal of working with children in sport. More specifically, I would love to work in Sports Performance Analysis as this is my passion and I am excited to gain as much information and experience as possible. I have also taken modules in Sports Physiology, Sociology, Psychology, several Research Methods, several Games, Working With People, Inclusion, Reflection and Performance Analysis - Biomechanics and Notational Analysis.

      • Mar 2017 - Apr 2018

I gained experience at Portsmouth Football Club whilst undertaking a week’s emersion placement in the team’s Performance Analysis department. During this time, I assisted the Academy Performance Analysis manager in activities such as filming all U18 training and preparing for a U23 Semi-Final cup match VS Swansea. I analysed previous game footage, picking out the strengths and weaknesses of the team, creating player profiles and coding specific game highlights using Sportscode software. I feel I gained valuable experience and insight as to how an elite professional club operates from a performance analysis perspective. Towards the end of the last season, I was able to participate on a voluntary internship at Portsmouth FC. In this time, I filmed various age groups from the club’s academy to be analysed. This experience allowed me to show how adaptable I am to different enviornments. It is a high pressured job with little room for error. You have to have good listening skills as well as be able to take instructions, which I believe I do well. The job requires me to be able to work independently as well as in a team. This job has enhanced these skills of mine.
