Experience

    • Assistant Director
      • Nov 2012 - Present

I am currently leading the industry engagement of the National Heavy Vehicle Charging Pilot, which is an innovative scheme to test out alternative heavy vehicle charges to the current State Based and Fuel excise charges. I work closely with industry peaks and individual operators across Australia to trial out new ways of heavy vehicle charges, to support Australian roads and the heavy vehicle sector. In this role, I am also responsible for leading the design work on how the Pilot will be run, including the technologies used, such as telematics and data transfer methodologies. I provide advice on the framework of how the on-road trials should be run, the organisation and logistics of the trial. Previously, I led the trial, policy development and implementation of the Known Consignor export security scheme. In this 2 year project, I engaged with the export industry and freight forwarding sector to develop an outcomes focused regulatory framework to strengthen Australia's air cargo exports. I oversaw the policy development, testing of policy levers and development of regulation for the scheme and managed the initial implementation with an operations team.
