Tom was a great asset to the project and his knowledge of Javascript & Front End development was fantastic. Took the lead on the development of the visitor portal side of the event genie solution. Developed highly configurable widgets to display event information on a web page. Code was tightly bound to the google app engine back end enabling it to generate a customised page for each event. Created dijit to display a lazy loading list of contacts and created dijits to display data from YouTube, flickr and twitter using jsonp protocols. Developed a complicated calendar display using dojo and css3 for smooth animations. Resolved conflicting events visually on the calendar and split each days events into separate 'tracks'. Created the page layout structure using best practise CSS techniques. Delivered a highly visual web application according to the visual designs supplied.

During my time at IBM I worked on a wide range of different projects in order to learn a vast range of skills covering the full breadth of application design and development. Worked with a large range of clients including BBC, Cooperative Financial Services, TFL and various MOD clients on classified projects. My final role at IBM was the BBC EM3 project delivering a large bespoke dojo application to enable the categorisation and sharing of digital media and assets. The system was implemented all the way from iPads in the warehouse through to the production floor.
