    • Retail Research Masters Dissertation Competition 2015
      • Jun 2015 - Sep 2015

As part of the Retail Research Masters Dissertation Competition, I successfully applied for a project sponsored by the Co-op which involved working at their headquarters in Manchester. In October 2015 I was awarded the runner-up prize for my completed thesis, which was published in The International Review of Retail, Distribution and Consumer Research. The project formed the basis of my dissertation which looked at how to gain a better understanding of transient store locations and what work place zone data can tell us about worker flows and worker demographics, therefore providing potential improvements to current location analysis and revenue prediction models. This has resulted in the ability to identify two potential new store locations in transient areas with high workplace populations. Through the analysis of worker flows and worker demographics, it has also been possible to recommend key product areas for each store. My work involved close collaboration with the Co-op's Location Analysis Team, analysing the company's extensive store data. Upon completion of this project I presented my findings at the Annual Demographics User Group Conference at the Royal Society, London. Show less
