      Due to the inevitable decline in foreign grants and sponsorships of HIV/AIDS treatment in developing countries, the Sustainable Finance initiative program was launched to carry out research on how HIV/AIDS patient could pay for some of their treatments. A willingness to pay survey was conducted alongside a Cost analysis to establish how much HIV/AIDS patients could afford and would be willing to pay for some of their treatments. Data was collected from patients receiving treatments in all SFI facilities across 13 states in Nigeria. This project was sponsored by USAID. As a health economist on the team, my job functions/ achievements were as follows;• coordinated health economics data collection to determine ability/willingness to pay for HIV/AIDS services across 13 states• Successfully identified all direct and indirect costs for Willingness to pay survey for HIV/AIDS treatment• Aggregated and analyzed large and primary data efficiently with the use of excel spreadsheet.• Conducted training on “Public Private Partnership in healthcare” and “Economic Evaluation for healthcare programs” using Microsoft PowerPoint• Drafted research protocol on “The Effectiveness of HIV self-testing as a strategy for identifying HIV positive patients in Nigeria”.• Responsible for development of guidelines used in the collection of health economic data to support cost analysis• Engaging with relevant departments across 13 states to support health economic data collection and decision making.

      The HFG project was funded by the USAID to assist in conducting public financial management in order to achieve overall fiscal discipline, as well as to effectively and efficiently allocate public resources to priority needs in healthcare such as HIV/AIDS. The purpose of the training was to ensure that the SPC’s can ask the right questions to enable them perform a thorough PFM assessment and to ensure that they are conversant with the PFM assessment tool. • Put together a report from the training for record purpose.• Conducted literature reviews on public financial management
