  During a week of intensive chamber music studies, I direct an orchestra of middle-school aged students in challenging repertoire. When not conducting the orchestra, I privately coach small chamber ensembles or play violin in the advanced orchestra to assist the students there. Since 2010, this workshop has welcomed a group of students from Jinan, China and our students have performed side-by-side with them. This multicultural exchange is of the utmost value not only to the participants, but to the faculty and staff. Show less

  As the Music Director & Conductor of this organization, I introduced high quality, classical music literature to a small group of young musicians. Over the course of the school year, the group nearly doubled in size. I worked closely with the orchestra managers and the board of directors to build the music library and schedule performances. Despite the organization having existed for over 15 years, under my leadership, the youth symphony had their very first headliner concert, which was an enormous success. Show less
