Enforced standards set by design department by reviewing and approving FTTH, carrier fiber, hybrid fiber/coax & cell tower CAD designs from three design contractors covering Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri & Texas. Used AutoCAD, Bentley Microstation, Lode Data, and construction field notes to design carrier fiber, hybrid fiber/coax, fiber optic node segmentation, and infrastructure modification design maps for both residential & commercial areas in all Louisiana & southern Arkansas service areas. Generated bill of materials and cost estimates for project cost approval. Supported design contractors by providing correct specifications for varying individual system designs and by contacting appropriate system personnel to get information necessary for design completion. Supported construction planners by providing rough designs to determine cost feasibility and researching project databases to find missing documentation for plant that is active in the field, but not shown on current maps. Gave a short speech to field personnel of the cloud based fiber documentation and management system OSPinsight; showing how it could calculate fiber break locations by entering footage determined by OTDR tester. Successfully moved design submission process from email to the online project management software Workfront, allowing more visibility and accountability. Provided educational support to construction planners and design contractors for the new system. Maintained project cost estimate database and approval system by entering materials and labor then submitting for cost approval. Provided construction with approved maps in digital and hard copy format. Facing a deadline for cost submission of only one day, I worked with a construction manager to provide an accurately estimated design to provide video & data service for Grambling State University.
