Identifies specific safety issues and formulates appropriate control measures. Led the creation of a high-visibility presidential-directed one-of-a-kind aviation detachment of 160 personnel to provide military aviation development to a former Warsaw Pact country. Planned all facets of personnel support—lodging, meals, and ground transportation—for 150 personnel quarterly. Coordinated with more than 25 Higher Headquarters, the Host Nation, and Wing-level units to establish this presidential-directed effort. Flawless activation ceremony with high-level distinguished visitors. Created and managed more than 30 new programs to support this unit. Co-authored all the policies, directives, and Standard Operating Procedures. Established all objectives, timelines, milestones, and deadlines for unit creation. Worked closely with Polish officials and U.S. stakeholders to achieve their vision. Managed unit budget of more than $1.5M plus the aircraft and support equipment to host all rotational forces sent to the base. Secured $5M funding to cover costs of bringing U.S. forces to Poland for training. Accomplishments: Consolidated, adjusted delivery schedules, and used alternate transportation methods to save $200K in shipping costs on essential equipment. Instituted shuttle service, consolidated personnel travel times, and saved more than $2K per month in gasoline. Designed a training program to focus and maximize capabilities of Polish planes similar to the USAF C-130s.
