I met Toby through his work with MinConsult, when I hired them to map project areas in the Yukon. I was immediately impressed by his knowledge, enthusiasm and stamina in the field. Although I put him into very different geological terrains, his ability to adapt and successfully map the ground was astonishing. He has a caring and engaging attitude that is well received by other staff and managers alike, and I am extremely happy to see him setting up his own consulting business. Although German is his native tongue, his English is excellent, including technical writing. I keep close contact with Toby and truly hope that someday we will be able to collaborate on projects together.

Tobias had showed strong work ethic in his pursuit of his Master's Degree during his time onsite at Detour Gold. Together, along with senior staff, Tobias was able to formulate a solid proposal that would be of significant benefit to the Exploration Department. His grasp on spatial distribution, sulphide mineralization, and the structural control of the sheeted vein systems allowed for a broader understanding of the lithological, structural and mineralogical control of the Detour Lake deposit. Tobias was able to complete, on time, his Master's thesis as well as reporting significant findings to the exploration team. It was a pleasure to work with Tobias and I would definitely recommend his work.

Field work included core logging, lithological descriptions and structural interpretation. The scope of this study was to establish possible spatial links between lithology, structure, styles of veining, alteration, and mineralization within the Detour Lake deposit by detailed core logging, petrographic investigation of polished thin sections, and whole rock geochemistry. A further objective was to provide more detailed information on possible controlling parameters and characteristics of Au mineralization pertinent to mineral processing including mineralogy, size, distribution and mineral association. This was carried out using a mineral liberation analyzer (“MLA”). At the end, a refined deposit model was created.
