Robert Young
I have had the pleasure of working with TJ for around 5 years at Selfridges and he is up there with some of the best designers I have worked with. Proficient in most design software and practise but also a driven individual and has a very good eye with all things design, his work being of a very high standard. TJ is one of the most dedicated colleagues I have worked with. Also, when working to tight deadlines his turnaround is swift but maintains the high quality of work he always produces. I have seen TJ progress over the last 5 years in various roles at Selfridges doing well in each role, we worked together on the many campaigns while we were both in creative and TJ has evolved from his role as a senior digital designer to a UX designer and he has become an important team member for his his immediate and wider teams in the business. TJ not only produces great work and has great teamwork attributes often seeking out more understanding of something I built or asking if something he has designed would be possible given the limits of the CMS and build tools we had at our disposal. TJ is very good at what he does, he'll always make time to advise and assist on any questions that are UX/design based and is very keen to learn more about the website and the dev side of things. TJ also likes to collaborate on most tasks even if it is something tiny like an exploratory idea or little things like performance queries. In my time working with TJ I feel I learned plenty from him as have others too, this is down to how TJ will also always make time to help mentor or teach others and I have seen this most days with him helping new starters and freelancers working alongside him. I will miss working with TJ, I think we became good work mates over our time working together at Selfridges, I would have no hesitations in recommending TJ for freelancer/permanent roles looking for a highly talented and driven UX/UI/Designer.
