Worked on the research project titled "Development and Optimization of qPCR Assays for Seafood Authentication"In doing so, I developed and optimized qPCR assays for the identification and authentication of mahi-mahi and swordfish. In this capacity, I've utilized techniques such as qPCR probes & primers design, DNA extraction, sequencing, barcoding, endpoint pCR, qPCR, and parameter optimization. Following completion of project, I remained at TRU-ID as an assistant to other projects including further optimization of pre-existing assays, streamlining and testing of R programs for deficient filtering in a database of genomic sequences, and the production of a scientific database on food fraud.

Responsible for generating labels from printers, the labelling of various expanded polypropylene parts, and scanning of these parts into numerous computer systems. Understanding of the software and working together with others was especially important to maintain efficient production times. In both Polycon roles, the identification of hazards and elimination or control of risks was essential to limiting potential workplace injuries for both myself and co-workers. Served customers and ensured that service was satisfactory. Alongside the duties of a waiter, additional roles included busser, cashier, and dish washier. A notable event during this period of time was when the restaurant had to cater to a wedding. Despite the hectic activity, excellent communication, organization, and teamwork of staff efficiently managed the event. Served customers and ensured that service was satisfactory.
