I had the pleasure of working with Tina on a global benefit change project when BHP Billiton transferred UK and US employees from Defined Benefit plans into Defined Contribution plans. This was a technically complex and sensitive project that demanded close teamwork of specialists across time zones. I was the communications lead and reported to Tina who headed up the UK change stream of work. Tina certainly knows her stuff. As well as her technical expertise in rewards and benefits, she has strong project management and change management skills and the ability to collaborate and lead a project team to deliver quality outcomes on time and on budget. This role was established to complement the devolved nature of BHP Billiton’s Group Pensions & Benefits department, following embedment of BHP Billiton’s new Operating Model. As part of this project I transitioned management of BHP Billiton’s UK DC pensions plan and associated risk benefits to the landlord business and fully outsourced Secretarial and Governance support services for the Trustee Board and Steering Committee for the UK DB & DC Plans. This allowed BHP Billiton’s UK regional pensions & benefit plans to operate without a local Group Pensions & Benefits presence. Other achievements:o Development of pilot governance & compliance frameworko Responsible for administration GMC & NEDs pensions arrangementso Closure of UK DB Plan and ultimate discharge of UK DB Plan liabilitieso Fully harmonised all UK employees onto a single set of UK pension and risk benefit planso Implementation of UK auto-enrolment compliant replacement pension plan and processeso Set up of new global benefit arrangements to support the demerger of some of BHP Billiton’s assets to set up the new company, South32 Show less
