I provided record management expertise to the Marketing team to ensure the organisation’s CRM database was accurate, efficient and legally compliant by cleansing historic personal data in line with data retention legislation and by advising on GDPR principles to improve record management policy and procedures thereby ensuring organisational compliance. I assisted different departments to process and cleanse large amounts of data which increased business efficiency and, as a result, improved the customer experience. Alongside this I employed my knowledge and previous experience working in archives to assist the Information Governance Manager establish a repository for the zoo’s 90 year collection. Engagement Assistant
-
May 2019 - May 2021
I began working with Bluecoat as a Digital Archives Assistant in 2017, volunteering my archival expertise to appraise, list and digitise archival records for the tercentenary celebrations. These records were made accessible to the public for the first time on the “My Bluecoat” website. I also assisted on the archival database, improving metadata to make records discoverable and useable. After this, I was employed front-of-house as an Engagement Assistant, assisting visitors to navigate the building, engage with the exhibitions in the gallery, and book and collect tickets for events. I undertook administrative tasks on the Tickets and Information desk such as handling calls and emails and updating the booking system. Show less

Records Audit Assistant (FTC)
-
Jun 2016 - Sep 2016
My subsequent project for the Grosvenor Estate required an audit of the large collection of business records from the Family Investment Office held on-site at the Eaton Estate in order to ascertain the efficiency of the current record management processes, identify areas for improvement, and to confirm the need for a bar-coding record management system. I cross checked the corporate database with records held in-store, identifying and locating missing records where possible. I identified flaws in the record management process and maintained a spreadsheet of my findings and recommendations, reporting these to senior management. I observed the condition of records throughout the project and performed basic preservation processes where necessary. Show less

Records Management Team Leader
-
Mar 2015 - Mar 2015
As part of my postgraduate diploma I undertook a record management project with the University of Liverpool’s Facilities Management Department. I was nominated Team Leader of a group of MARM students and together we conducted a physical audit of the records, liaised with the client to devise a legally compliant retention schedule and efficient filing system, rearranged the record store to enable business efficiency and either securely destroyed unwanted paperwork, or relocated paperwork it was necessary to retain to a secure store. As team leader I devised an efficient project plan and team schedule and monitored project progress throughout. We successfully delivered this project ahead of schedule and I received great feedback from the team and client. Show less

Archives Listing Placement
-
Jan 2015 - Jan 2015
This university work placement involved listing, boxing and cataloguing a recent acquisition of Local Orange Institution of England (Liverpool Provincial Grand Lodge) records, a unique collection of great local, and national, interest. Using CALM cataloguing software, I generated an online catalogue available for public use, ensuring metadata was compliant with ISAD(G) and ISAAR(CPF) standards, and produced hard copy finding aids for use within the repository search room. Subsequently, I produced a report on the Archival Descriptive Methodology and Archival Standards at Liverpool Record Office. Show less

Training Coordinator & Archivist
-
Apr 2012 - Aug 2014
This was a dual role position. As Training Co-ordinator for ‘Area 13’, I forecast the training needs of the business using MS Excel, liaised with training bodies to organise staff training courses, managed all bookings, attendance and certification applications/distribution, and hosted training events in-house and at external venues for up to 200 staff across the network. I ensured that training met legal requirements as well as individual CPD ambitions, and that staff held the qualifications necessary for their role. During the first few months of my employment, I was responsible for the migration of Area 13’s historical records into the new training database, ‘Safeguard’ and involved with configuring the system to suit our business needs. In this role, I was also involved in frequent company audits which monitored the validity of staff training and the company's Health & Safety practices. As Area 13’s lone corporate Archivist, I collected and catalogued completed network scheme files, ensured that each contained the required documentation, and made electronic copies, archiving the originals in the company's off-site repository and maintained the archival catalogue. I also assisted in the retrieval of historic scheme paperwork upon request. Show less
