Summer research assistantship mentoring students participating in SCCORE. For my presentation at the NM AMP Student Research Conference I wrote a program that uses a grading scale from 0 to 1 to assign a value to Median Home Prices in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas. The program also uses a grading scale from 0 to 1 to assign values to Median Wages for the same states. These values will show to what extent wages affect home prices. This data includes home prices in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas; the Phoenix, Denver, Albuquerque, and Dallas metropolitan areas; home prices limited to those cities; and wages at both the state and metropolitan level. This program uses data published by Zillow Group and the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Show less

Summer research assistantship mentoring students participating in SCCORE. For my presentation at the NM AMP Student Research Conference I wrote an Undergraduate Course Planner in Python. This program creates a prospective course schedule for students majoring in degree programs that fall under the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Eastern New Mexico University. This planner accepts the student’s existing transcript and creates a personalized degree schedule based on which courses the student is lacking to complete their degree plan. The planner also uses the student’s transcript to verify course prerequisites have been completed. This program takes into account course rotations and plans the schedule based on both the Fall/Spring rotation as well as the two year rotations as listed in the ENMU Course Catalog. This project was funded by NMAMP and SCCORE. Show less
