ARTIST AND DESIGNER
-
2004 - Present
I launched my entrepreneurial journey with a stationery collection I called Cid Pear. With watercolor motifs and attention to small details, Cid Pear was an overnight success from the New York National Stationery Show in 2004. From there I added licensing to my portfolio within the textiles, craft, paper, and gift industries. With textiles on hand, I launched my own independent sewing pattern business, sewtinagivens.com featuring my own textiles and my signature style in linen, silk, and fine cotton. Then I succumbed to the demand for ready-made garments and manufactured using a cottage industry model, under my name, and enjoyed several years of the apparel industry with trade shows across the country and making for over 100 independent boutiques worldwide. Since the unexpected shut down due to COVID I have taken a leave of absence redefining what I want for my hand-crafted couture pieces. It's a new world! I also publish a magazine called SYCHIL for my sewing customers and dabbling in large scale prints for the apparel market. Love what you do!

VP SALES & MARKETING

1998 - 2001
After my experience with advertising agencies, I was hired on the client-side of marketing with Cablevision's Cleveland Hub. Absorbed into a complicated and heavy workload to educate customers from analog to a digital network this was wrought with problems and unchartered territory. I loved the challenge and achieved a hard-core education in sales and marketing. Working with the New York headquarters marketing team, we built OPTIMUM TV which has since morphed into other companies and exists today as a digital television streaming alternative.
