I am the Routes+Shoots Lead for Farm Urban, and I am a member of the Senior Leadership Team. Farm Urban, a leading social enterprise, are on a mission to make our cities greener, healthier and more inclusive spaces. 'Routes + Shoots' is Farm Urban's education programmes and events offer that works towards these goals with our schools, colleges and universities. I lead the team that designs and delivers our Education offer to schools across the country. It currently consists of three core programmes, plus events offers... *THE FUTURE FOOD CHALLENGE* Our flagship secondary school STEM-Enterprise eight week programme for year 8 or 9 pupils with a leading online platform to support teachers and pupils on the programme journey. *FUTURE FOOD HEROES* Our primary school aged six week programme. Currently aimed at year 5 age group with the same teacher support and access to a leading online platform supporting both pupil's and teacher's journey through the programme. *FUTURE FOOD FESTIVAL* Our 'anytime, anywhere', purely online offer. Delivered through immersive, high quality video content accessible through videos that can be viewed weekly, monthly or all in one go. But basically at teachers' own choosing and discretion. Can be used as a stand-alone offer or as a teaser for further engagement with our other programmes. *PRESENCE AT EVENTS, plus FARM TOURS and VISITS* As well as our, current, core education programmes Routes+Shoots are also able to have a presence at events, for school aged young people, in various settings giving those who attend a taster and insight into the work Farm Urban do, the reasons why and our wider impact purpose and goals. We also host exciting farm tours at our leading research farm in Liverpool. Visitors get to see our hydroponic growing of incredibly nutritious leafy greens in a highly sustainable and super efficient way right in the heart of Liverpool. Meet the expert farm team, ask them questions & get to taste our amazing produce!

      • Dec 2013 - Oct 2020

I managed a region-wide portfolio of events delivered to school aged students, with business sponsorship & other funder support, that inspired young people into STEM futures & careers. Including an annual large scale event (10,000+ attendees) at a major exhibition centre. This was a strategic contribution to meeting the UK's STEM skills shortfall. My responsibilities were 'end-to-end' event & engagement management; generating attendee participation, selling sponsorship to businesses & cultivating stakeholder relationships, all venue & production logistics, live event management, floor plan design, contractor procurement, budget oversight, risk management, comms & promotion, reporting to funding bodies & contract management...plus everything else in between! I thrive on the challenge of instigating & developing mutually reciprocal relationships to deliver quality & purposeful interactions. In this post I honed my stakeholder & account management skills with major clients as well as my event production skills with high profile events in this role, increasing revenue, engagement, reach & profile year on year in post.
