    • Substitute Teacher
      • Apr 2016 - Aug 2018

At the beginning of the 2016 and 2017 school year, I was a long-term substitute teacher for a 3rd-grade class at Steele Lane Elementary School. I crafted and implemented lesson plans that coincided with Common Core Standards. Scaffolding was an essential aspect of my teaching strategy as I reviewed the previous lesson plans the following day with my students. Each lesson tied into the next and I reviewed 2nd grade standards as needed to maintain the overall long-term educational growth of each student. I currently substitute teach every day for the following districts; Santa Rosa City, Sonoma County Office of Education, Wright, Petaluma, Cinnabar and Roseland Districts. While the teacher is out, I follow their lesson plans and keep the students safe and respectful towards each other. Show less

    • Long-Term Substitute Physical Science Teacher
      • Oct 2017 - Dec 2017

I am currently teaching five classes and have 150 students. I am following the curriculum writers' instructions for 8th grade physical science. We are currently studying the periodic table of elements and different scientists' contributions to Atomic Theory. I'm guided by the California Standards for Science and it's my goal to have them more than prepared for ninth grade science. I'm also a teacher that must have students behaving and don't tolerate students that are distracting the class from learning. I use fair and firm discipline and if the problem persists it's paramount to notify the parents of their students distracting and procrastinating behavior. I am kind and truly care about my students emotional and scholastic wellbeing. I'm also passionate about coaching, music and other extracurricular mentoring and teaching. Show less

I directly communicated with the hosts of each party to alleviate their concerns and needs of their specific parking situation. There were constant physical and mentally demanding aspects of the job like, running, driving and directing traffic. Often times I worked near high traffic areas and was exposed to extreme weather.
