  For the last few years I have been a leader within Canteen Australia, being able to work and complete leadership training modules and become more involved with larger roles throughout the years as a volunteer after moving from membership to leadership. From my time within the organisation I am now an active Mentor, Peer Moderator on programs as well as a part of the national team (Youth Advisory Team) working on improving Canteens Services.   Over the course of two years I worked in my local Ritchies Supa IGA as floor staff for the first 12-18 months before picking up extra shifts working in the Liquor department once I turned 18 and had completed my Responsible Serving of Alcohol. * Floor work consisted of working the aisles and loads that came through, restocking shelves, putting up and taking down specials and filling ends, while also providing assistance to any customer nearby, and lastly I would assist regularly in moving the cigarette cases into overnight storage/security. *Working in the Liquor department was more of an overseeing position as we were quite small and only had 1-2 people on at any given time with a manager on call if necessary. When working I would be in charge of restocking shelves from loads, assisting with orders, recommendations and other customer queries, restocking cool rooms, register work, cigarette sales once I completed training, general upkeep (cleaning, swapping/removing specials tags) and closing at night shifts.
