Work with external partners including law enforcement, prosecutors and others to prevent and prosecute animal cruelty and neglect. Educate law enforcement personnel on ordinances and statutes relating to animal welfare and how to investigate crimes against animals and the relationship between crimes against animals and crimes against persons including domestic violence and child abuse. Responsible for ensuring that animal control staff receives the proper in service training. Established an Animal Cruelty Investigation Team whose members collaboration with law enforcement, prosecutors, and the public to ensure convictions on animal cruelty cases. Procured necessary equipment to successfully investigate cases of cruelty and neglect. Implemented processes and procedures for evidence handling and safekeeping ensuring the chain of custody remains intact for successful prosecutions. Provide litigation support for prosecutor authorities and assist in negotiations for adjudicated outcomes. Develop policies, procedures, and S.O.P.s relating to the safety and security of staff, equipment, and the welfare of all animals in the care and custody of FCAS..
