I manage a team of direct reports that fluctuates in size based on our workload. This includes three permanent technicians and up to seven part time student a/v operators. Our core work is capturing and live streaming class lecture content in a manner that allows remote sutdents around the world the abilitiy to attend a class remotely,I am responsible for all manner of adminstrative responsibilities, including hiring, scheduling, purchasing, inventory, creating quotes and invoices, writing proposals for staffing and equipment needs, and staff training, assessment, and development. I advocated for and designed technology upgrades, and built two mobile live streaming units that we regularly use on and off campus to capture lectures and presentation content outside of our permanently supported EDGE classrooms.I work with, maintain, and troubleshoot an assortment of high level production equipment, inclduing switchers, robotic cameras, audio boards, mobile streaming units and a variety of converters and signal routers. I do basic video editing, advanced audio recording/ editing and live streaming using software including Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Mediasite, Zoom, Panopto, and ProTools.Beyond core EDGE work, I regularly work with our umbrella department, Continuum College, on a variety of projects, including learning tech reasearch and assessment, and managing and migrating legacy media content to campus partners. I also provide support to our campus partners and faculty for Zoom, Panopto, Vocareum virtual labs, and Canvas, as well as create knowledge resourcess and host training sessions as needed.
