Tim is very engaged in his work and is a joy to know as a collegue. He shows compelling skill when asked to give impromptu history lessons to the students-his oratories weave the historical past with the present reality of the students in a way that grabs their attention and keeps them hooked. Having Tim on the team makes the work more effective and fun.

As a Social Studies Teacher at Eden Prairie High School, my primary responsibility is instructing Social Studies curriculum to students grades 9-12. In the 2021-2022 school year my courses included 10th grade US History and 12th grade Senior US Government. In this capacity I have worked in PLC groups within my department to keep assessments and content standards aligned between multiple iterations of the same class in a given grading period. I've improved upon my classroom management skills, helped build interpersonal relationships between myself and my students, and instructed students on course material. My teaching style is heavily dependent on data-driven instruction. I've had the privilege of working with the most diverse classrooms at Eden Prairie compared to anywhere else in my teaching career. I've had the opportunity to work with students of multiple different faiths such as Hindu and Muslim students. I've had the opportunity of working with students from the LGBTQ+ community and provide an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel comfortable expressing their sexual orientations and gender identities. I've had the privilege of working with students of many different cultural backgrounds such as students from Somalia, Ethiopia, India, Korea, and Eastern Europe. Many of these students were first generation American citizens or were new American citizens as they moved to Minnesota in their adolescence. Working with so many diverse students has allowed me to learn a lot about culture, language, and inclusion and given me new skills, while reinforcing tools I already had, to ensure that all students in my charge feel a sense of belonging in my classroom. Working in integrated classrooms of special education and general education students, I have developed my lesson material and assessments to be easily modifiable to accommodate IEP's while maintaining an appropriate academic rigor. • Social Studies Teacher/ELA Teacher
      • Aug 2021 - Nov 2021

In my role as a Social Studies/ELA teacher at Metro Tech Academy I had the responsibility to instruct and organize 4 different classes between 6th and 7th grade, 2 Social Studies classes and 2 ELA classes. I received a 1-year authorization to teach out of my content field in order to do so, my primary field of instruction being Social Studies Education. In this capacity I taught back-to-back classes with the first class of each grade consisting of Social Studies curriculum designed to be in accordance to Minnesota State Standards. For 6th Grade Social Studies was focused on Minnesota History and for 7th grade it was for general United States History. The second hour for both grades was ELA class wherein I had the ability to utilize Social Studies topics to instruct English Language skills in accordance to Minnesota State Standards for Middle School ELA. An example of this was early on in the year when both Social Studies and ELA standards lined up with one another, expecting students to learn Indigenous Histories of Anishinaabe and Dakota history in the United States/Minnesota in Social Studies Standards where in ELA standards students were expected to read the works of Anishinaabe and Dakota writers. Using similar techniques moving forward I was able to effectively instruct new concepts for both ELA and Social Studies while reinforcing learning from the sister class invovled for increasing in Lexile Growth. As a Social Studies Teacher at Nay-ah-Shing school my primary responsibility is instructing Social Studies curriculum to students grades 7-12. This includes: United States History Economics Personal Finance Geography Civics & Government History of the Mille Lacs Band Indigenous History Psychology In this capacity I have developed curriculum from the ground up, improved upon my classroom management skills, helped build interpersonal relationships between myself and my students, and instructed students on course material. My teaching style is heavily dependent on data-driven instruction. I have received specialized ACES training as well as trauma-informed student-teacher interaction training to best address the needs of my students. I have received on-site training from cultural staff as to cultural activities of the Anishinaabe people, as well as picked up key phrases of the Ojibwe language to be used in casual conversation. I am very familiar and comfortable with the PBIS model of disciplinary action that Nay-ah-Shing school has implemented, including utilizing behavioral matrix's in order to outline student expectations and rewarding positive student behaviors over disciplining negative actions. Working in integrated classrooms of special education and general education students, I have developed my lesson material and assessments to be easily modifiable to accommodate IEP's while maintaining an appropriate academic rigor. I am a member of the Nay-ah-Shing district Instructional Team, wherein I contribute towards curriculum development and planning for both Nay-ah-Shing upper school as well as the lower school. I am responsible for helping the team find professional development opportunities for staff year-around and plan out implementation of district-wide strategies for future student success. Finally, I played a key role in developing Project Based Learning curriculum and schedule planning to facilitate a transition towards a PBL facility. Show less

As a special-education paraprofessional, my responsibilities and experience include: • Working with a growth mindset • Collaborating Professionally with fellow staff • Leading individualized assistance to special education students • Working one-on-one with students or in small groups with students to increase student achievement • Affirmative intervention strategies • CPI training • A hands-on familiarity with special education teaching styles and concepts. • Classroom Management experience • An in-depth understanding of the creation process of IEP’s • Experience in finding accommodations and modifications for student assignments based on IEP’s In this capacity I work extensively with special education students in a classroom setting. I collaborate with students’ case managers and their general education teachers to modify assignments and accommodate students needs in the classroom. As a substitute teacher, my responsibilities included managing dynamic classrooms across a range of subjects based on expectations set by the general classroom teacher. More than observing classes for a day, I actively taught content based on the notes and resources left for me by the classroom teacher, and engaged student interest to the best of my ability with the content provided. This experience has given me new insights, tools, skills, and ideas for how to manage a general classroom in many different situations, and has made me a more well-rounded educator for the future in my career. Extraneously to my direct responsibility as a paraprofessional, I also coach knowledge bowl and am the adviser to a student-led and created Dungeons & Dragons club. Show less

I provided customer service to guests and helped guests feel as comfortable as possible in our establishment. I acted as a call-in when other co workers needed someone to cover them, and I have been a reliable employee who arrives on time and is willing to stay late to lend a helping hand. I research and qualify companies and contacts from companies for our sales reps to contact for B2B business. I extensively use resources such as Rainking, Jigsaw, and LinkedIn for my research and understand how to use them effectively. I saved contacts and companies manually into Microsoft CRM as well as set up activity notices for our sales reps to call viable contacts.
