IO team was designated as the watch support team for units operating in the CENTCOM AOR for reach back support and RFI management. Success grew into the FIOC watch team incorporating CNO (CNE/CND) into IO functions before the official Maritime Operations Center (FIOC-G Watch) was created at NSAG.
