My role teaching Syrian refugees in Colchester encompasses teaching them to speak, read and write English, as they have had no previous contact with the language, as well as also helping them to catch up with their peers in Maths, Science and ICT. Equally, I am also helping them integrate and feel comfortable in developing social interaction skills with other children their age - something which, again, they have had little experience of due to their circumstances.
