I am happy to offer a strong recommendation for Fatima, based on her work in a challenging upper division course in Communication Studies at San Francisco State University. Fatima did outstanding work in the class, earning an overall grade of A. In addition, I was impressed with her leadership in organizing students to get more involved in department activities. It was a pleasure to work with Fatima Rodriguez and I recommend her highly!

I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Fatima (Timmy) Rodriquez. Timmy was an excellent student in my Group Discussion course (COMM 521) in spring, 2012 at San Francisco State Universitry. Timmy earned an unqualified "A," and produced consistently stellar work. Given the importance of group and team interaction in education, social, and professional contexts, Timmy's superior skills bode well for her adaptability and promise to succeed in the workplace. In a variety of challenging group projects, Timmy exhibited a wide repertoire of skills required of the consummate group communicator and leader. In detailing my evaluation, I draw upon my obsrvations of her group work, oral presentation skills, and the communication journals that she and her peers wrote to assess their collective group experience. In their journal observations, Timmy's fellow group members singled out her leadership skills and diligent work ethic, citing her ability to set high standards, criticallly assess ideas with insight; maintain a task orientation, and present creative and substantive ideas. This style of communication places as much emphasis on listening as a technique of building consensus, as it does on the ability to assertively article points of view. Put simply, Timmy makes every group member perform better. In critiquing her journal observations, I found Timmy's writing vivid, clear, and well organized, displaying an impressive application of group communication theory and critical analysis. Group presentations culminate in formal oral presentations. While many group members find this the most stressful and demanding element, Timmy displayed the talents of a polished speaker, commanding her text with minimual use of notes, and speaking with a commanding presence. Any organization would be well served by including Timmy on their team. Sincerely, Rick Isaacson Associate Professor Dept. of Communication Studies San Francisco State University isaacson@sfsu.edu or Risaac123@aol.com
