    • Senior R&D Technician
      • Jan 2022 - Present

As of 2022, I have been responsible for the project management of the newest generation of PathoNostics IVD medical devices. This includes the development and generation of the technical file, assuring the products conform to the quality requirements of ISO 13485:2016 and regulatory requirements of the IVD Regulation (2017/746) and ensure effective communication and cooperation between different departments.

      • Aug 2014 - Dec 2021

In 2014 I joined PathoNostics as a Technician where I initially worked on the research of a new product for the fast and easy molecular detection of human dermatophyte infections. This included the setup of the assay, the design of oligonucleotide sequences, setting up and conducting experiments to ultimately obtain the prototype of the PCR assay. Afterwards, I worked on the further development of the PCR assay. This included the writing and reviewing of documentation for the Technical File and Device Master Record as well as performing the experiments needed to conform to the requirements of the company's ISO 13485 certified quality management system and applicable regulatory requirements. The assay was later certified as a CE marked in vitro diagnostic medical device for molecular detection of fungal pathogens in onychomycosis/dermatophytosis known as DermaGenius®. Later, I was involved in the conceptualization, design and development of the MucorGenius®, for detection of invasive mucormycosis in humans, as well as the second generation of the DermaGenius® product line. During my time as Technician, I was also part of the production team for the manufacturing of the PathoNostics Medical Devices according to ISO certified QMS processes. Furthermore, due to my affinity with IT related processes and software, I was involved as primary contact person for anything IT related; as well a the basic management and configuration of the companies ERP system (OpenERP, Odoo).Since 2017 I have been part of the Quality Assurance team within PathoFinder and PathoNostics, to maintain and improve the ISO13485 certified quality management system and processes within both companies. As trained internal auditor, I was capable of performing examinations and inspections of the quality management system. Show less

During my internship at PathoNostics I worked on the development of a multiplex screening assay to rapidly detect and identify the most common bacterial pathogens in Bovine Mastitis using PathoFinder's proprietary SmartFinder® Technology. This included the design of oligonucleotides using various bioinformatic tools and manual design, the setup and execution of experiments and extraction of nucleic acids from various sample types. Further assay optimization, multiplexing and droplet digital PCR techniques were used to obtain a sensitive and fast screening assay. Show less
