Tim is a very diligent person who's keen eye will be an excellent asset to any company. During Tim's time with the company, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with Tim on cost saving opportunities which not only saved the company hard savings but soft savings and a higher level of service and efficient service standards, while ensuring that contract terms were suitable for both parties.

Working with Tim for four years as I was learning the ropes in purchasing was eventful, enjoyable and importantly educational. Tim is a great mentor and an excellent team builder. His wealth of knowledge in all aspects of purchasing and supply chain makes him the perfect colleague. Tim taught me the art of negotiation as well as the skill of managing difficult suppliers. I consider myself a better buyer having been guided by Tim and I would relish the opportunity to work with him again.

A purchasing spend of over £14M Working directly for the Global Procurement Manager, I was the only strategic buyer within the purchasing team. Main responsibilities include supplier evaluation, appraisal, ECN management and supplier negotiation. Some of the commodities I have managed include plastics, aluminium, steel tubing and electronic sub-assemblies. I have been employed to help realise the business long term strategy to source quality product from LCC’s (Low Cost Countries). Achievements • Negate the increase in Aluminium extrusion from our current supplier (36%) by outsourcing to a China Mill. • Savings on packaging of 18%, despite the continued increase in the price of raw material • Savings estimated to be £164,000 on steel tubing, by resourcing to Western European Mill. • Devised and implemented a supplier evaluation/appraisal process in line with ISO9002 requirements.
